He is currently in charge of the Systems Department and is responsible for all Fire Alarm and Security systems installations, including new construction projects, retrofits, and maintenance and testing programs. He is NICET Level IV and holds several electrical licenses including a Masters license for the state of Maryland. Buddy has been a member of AFAA for over 9 years. Bob Baker - Vice President

Bob has been with EBL Engineers, LLC for 30 years.   He is a Senior Fire Alarm / Electrical Design Engineer and is NICET certified in Fire Alarm.   Some of his responsibilities include the design and testing of fire alarm and detection systems as well as the design of electrical systems to include lighting and power; and provided third party fire alarm services (reviews and acceptance tests/inspections/commissioning).  Bob has been a member of AFAA since 1995.  He is married with two children and lives in Harford County, MD.

Andy has been involved in nearly every aspect of fire alarm systems for a wide range of applications from ships and offshore oil production platforms to commercial buildings and apartment buildings. He has worked for both distributors and consultants over his 27 year career in fire alarm systems. He is the Engineering Manager for Alarm Tech Solutions, LLC a distributor for Gamewell-FCI, and is NICET IV Certified in Fire Alarm Systems. He is married with 3 daughters ages 11, 16 and 18, and lives in Severna Park, Maryland.

Don Kilby - Secretary

Don has twenty-four years’ experience in the electrical contracting/service industry and six years’ experience as a Life Safety Manager. Don joined Truland Service Corporation in 1989 and is a member of I.B.E.W., Local Union #26. He is a licensed journeyman in the State of Virginia and NICET certified in the fire alarm field. Don has been involved in all aspects of the fire alarm industry the past 20 years with Truland Service to include design/build projects, fire alarm retrofits, new construction, testing and maintenance, etc. He is married with one son, age 10, and currently lives in Purcellville, Virginia.

Frank Hauf - Director in charge of emails and hotel reservations

Frank is a Fire Protection Engineer with P.E. licenses in Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Maryland's Fire Protection Engineering program. He served as the US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District Fire Protection Engineer for more than 5 years. He has been an independent fire protection consultant since 1999, performing fire protection and life safety evaluations for owners; specifying/designing fire protection system(s) for owners; reviewing project designs for building, life safety and fire code compliance for owners and government agencies; completed Statement of Conditions Surveys for hospitals in accordance with Life Safety Code provisions (JCAHO compliance); and provided third party fire protection services (reviews and acceptance tests/inspections). Frank has been a member of AFAA since 1999. He ismarried and lives in Harford County, MD.

Ken Mazza - Director of Website

Ken started out as an electrical apprentice in Baltimore in 1972 not long ago!  Moved in to sales in 1979 with Simplex, along the way I have enjoyed staying in the Metro Area working for ADT, Edwards and now Carter Brothers, LLC.  I have worked in just about all aspects of the industry. Recently I had the pleasure of sitting on the committee that rewrote the NICET exams. I reside in Baltimore County, my daughter recently married and her new husband is a recent graduate of the Naval Academy and finishing his flight training in Corpus Christi, TX. My son is finishing up his last year at Cabrini College and currently ranked number seven in the country as a Long Pole Mid-fielder on their lacrosse team.

Rick Barnes - Director in charge of AHJ updates

Rick is a member of the IAFF local 1664 and a 31 year career fire rescue Captain with Montgomery County Department of Fire and Rescue Services. He is a member of NFPA and NAFI. Rick has 12 years of experience in the office of the fire marshal code compliance section as the supervisor for Battalion 3 and liason with the county's Department of Permit Services as program manager for new construction. He is also coordinator and manager of the department's fire alarm license program.

Married with a son, 2 daughters, and 7 grand children, Rick resides in Funkstown Maryland.
